A slider-lock bag may look like a simple bag with a closure, but material density and dimensions must suit the product. An unsuitable choice can mean film that tears in transit or unnecessarily stiff, costly material for a small, lightweight item.

LDPE, MDPE or HDPE?

LDPE is soft and flexible with good clarity and a smooth surface, suitable for clothing, cosmetics and general goods where flexibility matters. MDPE provides medium density and a balance of stiffness, strength and flexibility for e-commerce products and sets passing through several handling stages. HDPE is a higher-density, stiffer option for components, accessories and technical products. Puncture and tear resistance must be checked for the specific film thickness and finished construction, particularly with sharp edges.

Dimensions and construction

Slider-lock bags come in widths of 60–500 mm, heights of 80–700 mm and thicknesses of 40–120 μm, depending on material and load requirements. The slider closure can be combined with a Euro slot for retail display, a hanging hole for handling, antistatic film for electronic components or a coloured slider for identification.
